    We are glad to announce that the 44th Incontro di Grammatica Generativa (IGG, Generative Grammar Meeting) will be held in Rome (Università degli Studi Roma Tre) on March 1-3, 2018.


    The IGG represents the most important Italian venue for discussions on every aspect of generative grammar and formal linguistics.


    The conference will deal with any topic in generative grammar and the formal study of language, including linguistic submodules and their interfaces, language acquisition and psycholinguistics.


    The conference will host oral presentations and poster sessions.


    The official language is English.

    The IGG44 Conference will host the Workshop on Existential Constructions (WEC-SIR), part of the SIR 2014 Project on Comparing Nominal Predication at the Interfaces: a cross-linguistic study (PI:Francesca Ramaglia; project code:RBSI140Q5F).

    The WEC-SIR will take place on March 1st (afternoon session) and 2nd (morning session).

    As in previous editions of IGG, the “Fondazione Marica De Vincenzi Onlus” will offer an award of € 500 to the best paper by an Italian researcher without a tenure-track position (e.g. a doctoral or post-doctoral studentship, or a non-permanent research contract) selected for IGG.


    Candidates for the award must be of Italian nationality but can reside anywhere, and must be first authors of a paper accepted and presented at IGG44.


    All interested parties meeting the requirements must specify their intention to compete for the award when submitting their abstract and provide (through EasyChair) an additional text describing their research (maximum 2 pages, same format as the IGG abstract).


    The selected candidate will be announced at IGG44.

    November 15th, 2017

    Notification of Acceptance:
    January 10th, 2018
